Estimation of survey efficiency and biomass for commercially important species from industry-based paired gear experiments

چکیده
Fishery-independent surveys provide valuable information about trends in population abundance for management of commercially important fish stocks. A critical component the relationship catches survey to size a stock is catch efficiency gear. Using general hierarchical model we estimated relative chain sweep rockhopper used by Northeast Fisheries Science Center bottom trawl from paired-gear experimental tows carried out between 2015 and 2017 using twin-trawl vessel. For 10 species, fitted compared set models with alternative assumptions variation paired gear tows, diel effects on efficiency, extra-binomial observations within tows. These analyses provided evidence changes all species were but one species. We then data 2009 2019 estimates best performing estimate annual seasonal sweep-based swept area biomass 17 managed uncertainty results bootstrap procedures each component. also assessed effect calibration correlation estimates.

DNA barcoding of commercially important salmon and trout species (Oncorhynchus and Salmo) from North America.
The present study investigated the ability of DNA barcoding to reliably identify the seven commercially important salmon and trout species (genera Oncorhynchus and Salmo ) in North America. More than 1000 salmonid reference samples were collected from a wide geographic range. DNA extracts from these samples were sequenced for the standard 650 bp barcode region of the cytochrome c oxidase subuni...
متن کاملCharacterization of IgG and IgE Binding to Parvalbumin Derived from Commercially Important Fish Species
Parvalbumin is a pan-allergen in fish and frog that triggers IgE-mediated reactions in fish-allergic individuals. Previous studies demonstrated that antibodies raised against fish and frog parvalbumins displayed varying specificity for different fish species, and thus the applicability of these antibodies for potential use in immunoassays to detect fish residues were limited. We aimed to determ...
متن کاملCadmium and lead in selected tissues of two commercially important fish species from the Adriatic Sea.
Baseline levels of cadmium and lead were determined in muscle tissue and liver of hake (Merluccius merluccius) and red mullet (Mullus barbatus), two commercially important fish species from the eastern Adriatic. Concentrations of trace metals in liver (Cd: 6-183 microg kg(-1) w. wt. ; Pb: 39-970 microg kg(-1) w. wt.) were within the range of recently published data for the Mediterranean. In the...
متن کاملChemical compositions and minerals of some commercially important fish species from the South Caspian Sea
The objective of the current study was determined chemical composition (including protein, lipid, ash and moisture) and content of minerals (Zn, Mn, Fe, Cu, Cr, Ca, Na, Mg, Mo, P, Se, K, I and F) in five fish species from the South Caspian Sea. The chemical analysis revealed that the protein content of common kilka, Caspian kutum, common carp, pike perch and golden grey mullet was 18.35%, 21.39...
متن کاملThe larval tapeworms (Cestodes: Trypanorhyncha) isolated from some commercially important fish of Persian Gulf
A total of 180 fish samples from three commercially important teleosts (Epinephelus coioides, Euthynnus affinis and Thunnus tonggol fish) of Persian Gulf across Hormozgan coast were investigated for plerocercoid infestation, which were sampled from Jun 2017 to September 2017. The parasites were fixed, stained, mounted on to slides and identified. Epinephelus coioides was not infested. Following...
